A gourmet break in Marrakech

In addition to having many monuments to see, Marrakech offers cuisine that is widely appreciated throughout the world. The dishes are enhanced with spices, with vibrant colours and come in a variety of styles and flavours. All of this is executed in the greatest simplicity and complete authenticity of Morrocan tradition. The city has many tasty restaurants, but be careful not to fall into tourist traps, because if you eat well, you will pay a high price.

Be curious and lose yourself in the alleys of Marrakech to discover locations that will be used for your next trips, in the meantime, Villanovo has found some good spots where you can discover the delicious Moroccan cuisine.

A gourmet break in Marrakech

You probably know the Majorelle garden, but what about the restaurant it houses? Launched in 2010 by Saida Cherkaoui, "Pause Gourmande" offers traditional dishes: couscous, tagines, briouattes, pastillas, pastries, all prepared by professionals in the kitchen. Here, the semolina is hand-moulded and the products come straight out of the market. During the hot summer months, the restaurant is equipped with air conditioning and water misters on the terrace.

In Morocco, dancing and singing is an integral part of the culture. The famous belly dance is a signature of the continent, to the delight of visitors who come to admire the energy of the dancers who often perform in famous restaurants. This is the case at Comptoir Darna, where every evening artists come to celebrate a gourmet dinner. Every day, the restaurant offers an orchestra that revisits the greatest hits of Arab-Andalusian music. On the menu, pick from the local flavours and choose between Tajine, Couscous or Méchoui. At dessert time, traditional dancers enter to mark the end of the evening. After a delicious meal, let yourself be carried away by the traditional sounds and enjoy a night in Marrakech.
