If, like us, natural landscapes and outdoor activities fascinate you, you will love our discovery of two magnificent lakes in Morocco. Already famous for the abundance of possible activities, its captivating culture or its exceptional gastronomy, take advantage of a holiday in Morocco to explore new landscapes. These two lakes rarely visited by tourists are a great way to get some exercise through a hike with family or friends while you recharge your batteries and discover beautiful new places in Morocco.

Lake of bin el Ouidane

Lake of bin el Ouidane

Bin el Ouidane which means "between the rivers" is a lake of more than 37 square kilometres, located in the region of Tadla-Azilal and more precisely between Ouaouizeght and Azilal, two Moroccan cities of average size. The town of Bin el Ouidane is located west of Marrakech and 3 hours by car, ideal if you rent a villa in the centre of Marrakech and a car to move around. This small rural town has 5721 inhabitants and can also be a very pleasant place to visit on the way if you plan to go to the lake. Indeed, there you will discover a charming and traditional small town whose inhabitants are very warm and will welcome you with open arms to share the history of the region with you. The lake is better known as a dam lake since its waters are used to feed the Bin el Ouidane dam. This dam, which was built in 1949, is of capital importance for the region as it provides two-thirds of Morocco's hydroelectric power and irrigation for the region. Surrounded by peaks, the lake has an exceptional setting where the colours blend harmoniously, between the blue of the water, the ochre mountains and the red earth. We thus advise you to leave in the early morning and to take a hike on the heights of the site before admiring the setting sun on the mountains. Indeed, the lake of Bin el Ouidane offers many possible activities in the middle of nature such as hiking, cycling or fishing in the authorized areas of the lake.
