In summary 

Riad Darmina is a beautiful riad with 7 ensuite bedrooms. The large courtyard includes a swimming pool and another pool is available on the large roof terrace. Dar Mina was completely renovated and restored in 2016. The house is very comfortable and ideally located in the Sidi Mimoune district near the Royal residence and the Mamounia. Place Jamaa el Fna is only 10 minutes by foot. The view from the roof terrace is outstanding.

Indoors

Riad Darmina is organised around 2 courtyards. The first large courtyard is traditionally crafted. The second courtyard is designed in a contemporary manner. Each courtyard is accessed through the central living room and dining room.
Bedrooms 1 to 5 are located in the traditional courtyard and Bedrooms 6 and 7 are located in the modern courtyard.
In the traditional courtyard there is also a bhou (open lounge alcove), a sitting area in the courtyard, a small swimming pool and a living room with fireplace, TV lounge (CANALSAT) + DVD, dining room for 16 people.
In the modern courtyard you will find a massage room with shower (Massage on request : DH 400 / hour) and a small seating area.

La décoration est très belle avec un beau mix entre la partie moderne et la partie plus traditionnelle. Un véritable bijou !
Quant à Meryem, la cuisinière, elle prépare une cuisine familiale exceptionnelle !

Très bonne écoute et contact agréable avec les équipes de Villanovo. Aide précieuse.
Difficile de trouver... On a cherché ensemble : on a vraiment rien trouvé !

I visitied in March 2025 with a group of friends to celebrate my 40th birthday.
The riad was spectacular. We spent the days on the roof by the pool on the sunbeds. The rooftop has been well thought out with shaded seating areas (for those who don't like sun!) and also a shaded dining table. There is also a small area on the roof level with fridge and various glasses so we could help ourselves to drinks throughout the day.
In the evenings we would move to the inside dowstairs area. We were there in March so the evenings got a bit cold and Ghirlane made a fire for us. We then could chose between a couple of seating areas for pre/post dinner drinks.
Every single bedroom had special touches and an en suite with gorgeous Moroccan tiling. The beds were comfortable and the linen felt luxurious. Five of the bedrooms are set around the courtyard and we enjoyed hearing the birds on the trees in the courtyard in the morning.
The staff were wonderful. Ghirlane helped us book a hammam which took quite a lot of calling round places. She really made us feel like nothing was too much and we were so appreciative. The food was incredible. The breakfasts were a mix of french bakery products but with Moroccan influence. We were made fresh brioche and cakes that were warm out of the oven and fresh eggs every morning. We had two dinners in the Riad, and it was the best food we ate during our trip. We had the chicken tagine with olive and lemon on the first night which was absolutely incredible and the lamb parmentier on the second which was also spectacular.
There is also an office with a printer which was useful when we realised we had not printed our boarding passes on the last night.
We loved the location of the riad because we wanted to be able to walk everywhere. We arrived Thursday and left Sunday so wanted to be able to walk into the main square every day. The area felt safe, as did the walk in.
All in all, the riad felt like a real treat and we would definitely want to book again. Definitely recommend!

I would also use Villanovo again because the communication was fantastic in the run up to the trip and it was very convenient having Simo at the end of Whatsapp who you could ask questions to and help organise things for your guests.
I was surprised that we were charged extra for the self service coffee as most places would just provide free coffee for you to have before everyone is up for breakfast. That was the only thing!

Nous avons eu peu d'explication quant aux prestations sur place et la communication avec le personnel était insuffisante.
Quantité limitée au petit-dejeuner.
Nous sommes surpris d'avoir à payer des bouteilles d'eau alors que nous n'avions jamais eu la carte des boissons ni détail de ce que nous pouvions consommer ou non.

Bonne situation géographique dans la Medina.

The riad was amazing… and the ladies who looked after us were absolutely amazing…we would definitely recommend this riad to people… and we are DEFINITELY coming back !!!. A special mention also to SIMO who acted as our concierge… brilliant work !!!.

Riad splendide, décoré avec raffinement. Les chambres sont grandes et les salles de bains magnifiques.superbe adresse! Le personnel est aux petits soins pour les hôtes , d’une gentillesse incroyable. Tout ici est fait pour vous faire plaisir ! Et surtout surtout Meryem la cuisinière véritable top chef qui nous a concocté les meilleurs plats de la cuisine marocaine. Un vrai délice! D’ailleurs nous y avons pris tous nos repas! Les petits déjeuners étaient incroyables, jus frais et différents tous les jours, crêpes marocaines, cake maison orange ou citron, brioches, etc etc! La plus belle adresse! Nous reviendrons certainement! Merci aussi à rezlan pour son œil attentif au besoin de tous!

We really loved, loved, loved the ambiance of the riad. The home is beautifully and intentionally designed. We also loved the service staff! Very soulful human beings, very friendly, welcoming, and trustworthy. We also loved the interactions with Bettina of Villanovo, she was speedy in her responses and a great communicator.
We disliked that there was a broken communication chain with the driver we had booked. It was a bit stressful to converse with Bettina about the drivers arrival/pickup vs. being in touch directly. And even when we requested the number of the driver to "text him" when we're done at a museum, we reached a woman at a service desk, and couldn't converse with the driver directly, which lead to frustration on his end and ours. ALso on our departure day, the luggage pick-up didn't arrive, so there was time lost for us waiting for them, and the driver waiting for us :)

While the food was good, that was prepared by the staff for us, we felt the ambiance of a dinner experience was not as high-end/visually appealing as the rest of the villa would suggest. The same for breakfast. We felt the breakfast could use some variety conversation in advance, what's wished for breakfast. (We LOVED the fresh juices, fruit and home-made pancakes though!)

Lastly, we felt a bit uncomfortable having to pay in cash upon check out, when the rest was paid via transfers/creditcards. Problem was solved immediately (By paying half in cash) but you could feel the frustration on staff side.

Miriam the cook was excellent. Really pleasant and accommodating.

I would have rated the Villanovo service as excellent had it not been for prolonged email response times which had me concerned at times whether the service was legitimate. Which was a shame because all other aspects of your service was excellent.

The only other feedback i have is that it would be good to have an understanding on in-house food/alcohol policy ie whether you can/cannot bring in your own and if you can cook yourself.

Ce Riad est parfait à partager entre amis. Tout y est réunit : la décoration très soignée, la gentillesse et le service du personnel, la cuisinière qui nous a régalé, la propreté, l'espace piscine sur le toit idéal pour se rafraîchir et bronzer, l'environnement très calme. Et je tiens également à remercier l'equipe Villanovo pour son efficacité et tout particulièrement Mathilde au service conciergerie qui a toujours été réactive et compétente.

La terrasse d’exception avec une vue splendide sur Marrakech.
Nous bénéficions de toutes les expositions au fil de la journée sans être enclavé au milieu d’autres raids.
Le gros plus de la maison est aussi la piscine, très rare sur le toit d’un Riad. Nous avons été tous séduits par la décoration très soignée.
À préciser, le professionnalisme de l’équipe au sein du Riad, très appréciable!
Nous avons passé un superbe séjour.
L’eclairage Trop faible sur la terrasse le soir notamment lorsque nous dînons ou en prenant l’apéritif. Il faut sans doute rajouter des lampadaires extérieurs en plus des appliques murales. Les lampes Fatboy ne suffisent pas. Autre point à améliorer: la pression de la douche notamment dans la chambre avec la tête de lit grise et les fauteuils en cuir rose.
Pour les autres SDB, nous n’avons pas questionné nos hôtes.

The riad was awesome the interior design great so cosy and modern and we loved the staff and the food!

At the beginning we were not very confident to rent a Riad throw internet but Villanovo provide us a secure way to rent and the staff was very helpful in every moment, so I really recommend Villanovo and for sure I will use them again in the future!

Superbes vacances en famille au Riad DarMina ! Lendroit est magnifique et la localisation géniale pour découvrir Marrakech… Nous recommandons vivement le Riad tant pour son accueil que sa cuisine et son confort ! Le TOP.
Mention spéciale pour Fati et Rezlane qui furent aux petits soins avec nous et les enfants.
Un grand merci à Mathilde de Villanovo pour ses conseils et sa gentillesse.

Le Riad Darmina est absolument magnifique, rien n'y est laissé au hasard, particulièrement la décoration ! Il bénéficie d'une situation parfaite, d'un service de grande qualité. Les 2 employées sont au petit soin, les repas aussi délicieux que copieux, du petit déjeuner au dîner.
Je recommande ce Riad à tous ceux qui cherchent une destination pour une parenthèse magique au Maroc !

10 jours de rêve au Riad Darmina à Marrakech début octobre.

Le lieu est magnifique, spacieux, très joliment décoré, la vue sur l'atlas depuis la terrasse juste superbe, la piscine indispensable, les petits plats concoctés par Fati & Ghislane délicieux, la situation idéale, l'ambiance chaleureuse ....

bref tous les ingrédients réunis pour passer un séjour inoubliable !!!
