At the foot of the mountains, Marrakech has a hot and dry climate, called "steppe" according to the Koppen-Geiger classification. Rainfall is very low and more frequent between February and April. That is to say that the average precipitation is about 250 mm. All year round, the average temperature is 19.6°C with very high temperatures in summer and periods of drought. On the contrary, the coldest month of the year is January. And, around October and November, there may be some thunderstorms due to a wet wind.

Mild winters and particularly hot summers

In winter, temperatures can rise to 20°C with a greater temperature difference between day and night. Indeed, mornings and evenings are often cooler. Marrakech nevertheless remains one of Morocco's most pleasant cities in winter, with temperatures that rarely fall below 0°C.

Summer is particularly hot in Marrakech with temperatures that can reach 45°C. The only times of the day when the heat remains bearable is either early in the morning or in the evening with cooler temperatures. But, it is possible to fight the heat in the Palm grove, which is cooler, or to stay in your villa with air conditioning. During this period, it is unlikely to rain but there may be sandstorms.
