Riad Nawar

In summary

Nawar is a charming riad in the Assouel district, in the Marrakech medina, close to the Ben Youssef Madrasa. A planted patio, covered by a retractable roof in winter, links the living areas and five bedrooms spread across two floors. On the roof, a heated pool, a solarium and a dining area open onto views over the medina and, on clear days, over the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas Mountains. It provides a pleasant setting for a stay in Marrakech.

Indoors 

At the heart of the house is a planted patio, open to the sky and closed in winter, from December to March, by a retractable, transparent roof that allows it to be enjoyed whatever the season. Around it are arranged a sitting room, a dining room and a library that doubles as a winter sitting room, furnished for reading and board games.
The five bedrooms are spread between the first floor, which has three, and the second floor, which has two.


Outdoors 

The planted patio also serves as an outdoor space: a shaded inner courtyard, it is the main living area during the warmer hours of the day, with an outdoor dining corner.
The roof of the house has been fitted out as a full terrace: a solarium, sun loungers and a dining area surround a small heated pool. From here, there are open views over the rooftops of the medina and, on clear days, over the snow-capped Atlas Mountains in winter.


Staff & Services

The housekeeper is present every day from 9am to 5pm (she does not live on site).
A number of services can be arranged on request: a laundry service, a hot-air balloon flight over Marrakech, massages at the riad, booking a traditional hammam, Moroccan cooking classes, private excursions (to the Atlas Mountains, Essaouira or Aït Benhaddou), a private airport transfer, and more.
